Distribution of anti-Covid-19 prevention kits for communities
The Covid-19 health crisis is far from being without consequences. Businesses, producers, households are severely impacted. Sahanala is stepping up its efforts to protect its employees and stem the spread of the coronavirus.
“Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can.” This quote from Arthur Ashe is a perfect illustration of the approach choosed by Sahanala in the fight against the Covid-19.
To curb the spread of the virus and protect as many people as possible, the company has invested on equipment and sewing trainings for its staff, in order to produce fully-reusable cloth masks. In addition to help in stemming the virus, this operation created jobs and helped to maintain activities in production units. Obviously, all these actions are carried out in compliance with the sanitary measures recommended by the medical profession.
In addition to protective masks, Sahanala has also distributed soap bars to local communities in the regions where it operates.
The goal is to equip up to 9,700 households with 42,500 reusable masks and 10,644 soap bars. These figures may increase, depending on the possible extension of the health crisis.
